What I do around here…Clever words and sharp strategies for providers who want to be chosen.
There’s no template for disability, no guesswork, and no borrowed strategies from unrelated industries. The same rules apply here.
COPYWRITING
Words that do the work.
Everything here is bespoke because so is disability. I speak to your specific clients, sell your specific services, and do it all on your behalf.
Website copy
Home, about, services, contact, and everything in between. This is the first stage of warming up leads that convert to clients.
Expressions of interest documents
EOIs that are easy to understand, not repetetive or time consuming, and start to build trust.
Email campaigns
Nurture sequences, newsletters, resources and emails that people actually look forward to reading.
Lead magnets
Downloadable or online resources that build your mailing list, boost your brand awareness, and communicate that you’re legit.
Digital business resources
Guides, workbooks, templates, agreements, and templates for your business.
Service descriptions
Real, human conversations that explain what you do and why you’re the right person to do it.
Competency statements
Clear, compelling, and tailored to your unique strengths.
Copy for paid ads
Long and short form ad copy written in the voice of your business.
Blogs, media editorials, & research articles
Long-form content that establishes authority, increases engagement, and boosts SEO. Citations included of course.
MENTORING & CONSULTING
A thinking partner, not a business coach.
If there’s one thing my clients and my own experiences have taught me, it’s that university or TAFE didn’t prepare you for the business-side of your career. Understandably, the main focus was on clinical outcomes and as a fierce disability advocate, I’m very grateful for that!
But here, in the world of building and running a successful business, achieving the best clinical results won’t translate to great clients, money in the bank, and work/life balance. If business success was based on professional outcomes, Coca-Cola would’ve tanked before it even began.
So that’s where I can come in, however you need me. I don’t have a set program, a one-size-fits-all strategy, or rigid solutions based on industries that aren’t yours. I’m a Zoom call when you need a back-and-forth, a Voxer message when you’ve got a quick question, or a cheerleader in a blazer and high-top sneakers.
I can bill by the hour, put a retainer together, or package things up however you need.
Traditional “business-coachy” vibes are just not my jam. Calling your plumber mate when the toilet’s overflowing for a no-fuss, honest chat? I’m the business version of that.
THIS MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF…
You’ve tried generic business mentoring and it didn’t pay off
You don’t have the caseload you want or need
You want a business that doesn’t rely on NDIS
You’ve got ideas but no strategy
You often feel stuck and aren’t sure what to do
Rocking back and forth in the corner? I’ll meet you there with some snacks and a plan.
Feeling like this is all a foreign language? Still figuring out what a copywriter actually does and whether or not you need one? You’re not alone and it’s completely ok!
Got questions?
Stuff you might be wondering about…
-
Every business is unique, has unique challenges, and needs unique solutions. To be able to quote accordingly, there’s information you’ll need to provide me so I can assess the entire scope of work. Once I’ve got a handle on things, I build and send you a proposal.
Charging per hour for deliverables disadvantages us both. If my advanced skills make me quicker than someone else, I’m penalised. If I underestimate how long something might take me, the project will pause and you’ll be up for more $$. Agreeing on a set price keeps things fair for us both.
-
Absoloutely not, in fact that’s a big part of how I can help. We chat about your business, where you’re at and where you want to be, and I help make the magic happen!
-
To help us get going ASAP, I’ll send you my briefing questionnaire at the beginning of the project. By answering the set questions with a reasonable about of detail, I can usually get the exact info that I need.
-
For copywriting, most projects over $1k require a 50% deposit to get started and then the final 50% when you’ve signed off on deliverables. There are some exceptions, such as retainer packages, but this will always be communicated up front.
Payment plans are available for invoices over $1k and terms are mutually agreed on.
-
The standard inclusion is two rounds of revisions. That means that when I submit my work for your review, you have two opportunities to request changes. It’s very rare that a project needs more than two rounds, however this can be included in the price if needed.
-
Yes! I’m a sole trader too ;). Everything I do is tailored to you as the client so your business size doesn’t matter.
-
It’s not often that a client requests no changes (but it does happen!). This is an entirely normal part of the process. Sometimes you won’t know what you want until you’ve actually seen a draft because you don’t know what you don’t know!
In all my years of copywriting, I’d say an entire rewrite has probably happened twice. As long as the briefing process runs as it should, you will likely only need minor changes on what I deliver. In the rare event that it’s not what you were hoping for, we’ll come up with a plan that works for us both.
